The Center for Excellence in Aging and Geriatric Health (CEAGH) is now offering both Driving Evaluations and Geriatric Assessments. UPDATE: Between now and September 30, 2009 the first 30 Driving Evaluations for will be FREE!
The Geriatric Assessment is completed by a geriatrician, a neuropsychologist and a social worker. You will need a referral from your primary care physician and the assessment takes about 3 hours. Medicare and most other medical insurances cover the cost of the assessment.
The Driving Evaluation involves both psychological and driving simulator testing. Once through with the testing, CEAGH will make a diagnosis and provide recommendations, information and support. The cost of the evaluation is $295 and is not covered by insurance, although they do offer a sliding scale fee based upon income.
