Yep, you read it right. If you live in Hampton or Newport News, and are at least 60 years old, you are eligible for up to 32 hours a month of companion/personal care for only $7.75 per hour. This service is due to a partnership between Catholic Charities and the Hampton/Newport News Community Services Board. The goal of their new In-Home Respite Care Program is to provide short-term assistance to family caregivers in order to prevent caregiver burnout.
